November 1967, Jacques Seysses bought Domaine Graillet based in Morey-St-Denis and renamed it after his own name: Domaine Dujac. Jacques Seysses, son of a leading gastronome and buiscuit manufacturer Louis Seysses had apprenticed with Gérard Potal, Charles Rousseau, Bernard Clair-Daü, Henri Gouges, Aubert de Vilaine. 1968, the first vintage was the worst and sold in bulk. 1969 put the Domaine firmly on the map. 1973, Jacques married Rosalind Boswell from California, they have 3 kids: Jeremey and Alec involved in the Domaine and Paul.
Diana, a Californian oenologist married Jeremy and in 2000, Jeremy inaugurated a small scale négociant business Dujac Fils & Père. The Domaine has expanded during the years culminating in the acquisition the exceptional vineyards of Domaine Thomas-Moillard in 2005. In 1987, the Domaine moved to lutte raisonnée, 2001 to organic farming. Today, 75% of the Domaine including all Premier Cru & Grand Cru is farmed organically with experiments of biodynamic lines. Jacques Seysses is a leading advocate of including stems in the fermentation process. and avoiding bruising the grapes during the destemming process.
Dujac wines are not necessarily the deepest in colour but are noted for their exceptional fragrance, structure and longevity. With 7 Grands Crus in the stable, Dujac is today one of Burgundy's leading domaines.
