This Burgundian domaine has been a family estate for nearly 200 years. Erwan Faiveley, 7th generation, took the reins in 2006 from his father when he was only 25. They have earned their reputation as one of Burgundy’s finest and most trusted, with an unparalleled selection from the Côte de Nuits, Côte de Beaune and Côte Chalonnaise totalling over 120 hectares.
The wine is matured for about 18 months in the cellars in Nuits-Saint-Georges. Part of the cuvee, which varies depending on the vintage, is raised in oak barrels. These barrels come from high-quality barrel makers and have been rigorously selected for their fine grain and light toast.
2016 was a mixed year, with harvests taking place later than usual in order to allow the grapes to reach their optimum ripeness levels.
Tasting Note:
A beautiful ruby colour. This wine has pleasant, fresh, red-fruit aromas on the nose, which is found again on the palate. It has a rich and very ripe substance, with fine and round tannins. This is a very well-structured and pleasing wine. Alcohol14%
